Unox Thermodynamic Flanged Condensate Trap
Thermodynamic Flanged Steam Trap General Features
Simple, robust, and reliable. They can operate at very high temperatures and pressures. Initially, the incoming pressure lifts the disc and the cool condensate water is immediately discharged. The hot condensate flowing through the inlet passage under the disc reduces the pressure and releases the flash steam moving at high speed. This high velocity creates a low-pressure area beneath the disc, pulling it back onto its seat.
The operating speed depends on steam temperature and ambient conditions. Most steam traps will remain closed for 20 to 40 seconds. If the steam trap opens too frequently, possibly due to cold, wet, and windy conditions, the opening speed can be slowed by installing an insulation cover on the trap.

Advantages of Thermodynamic Flanged Steam Trap
-
Operates effectively throughout the entire operating range. No adjustments or internal modifications needed.
-
Compact, simple, and lightweight, with a large condensate capacity relative to its size due to larger openings.
-
Suitable for high pressure and superheated steam; not affected by water hammer or vibration.
-
Available in all stainless steel construction, offering high resistance to corrosive condensate.
-
Resistant to freezing damage if installed with the disc in a vertical plane and discharges freely to the atmosphere; however, this position may cause disc edge wear.
-
Since the disc is the only moving part, maintenance is easy by removing the bolted or threaded cover without removing the trap from the siphon line.
-
Produces an audible "click" sound during opening and closing, making trap testing straightforward and clear.
Thermodynamic Flanged Steam Trap
From the moment the system starts operating, compressed air and gases will condense and accumulate in the lines. If these are not removed, they cause various malfunctions, extra costs, and reduce system efficiency.
The UNOX Thermodynamic Flanged Steam Trap prevents all these issues, prolongs system life, and helps maintain maximum efficiency.
