What is a Stainless Steel Swing Check Valve?
A stainless steel swing check valve is a type of valve that allows the one-way flow of a liquid or gas. The internal swing disk moves according to the flow direction of the fluid and prevents reverse flow. Stainless steel swing check valves can be manufactured in different sizes and materials.
These devices allow fluids to pass in only one direction. They have two connection points: one for the fluid inlet and the other for the fluid outlet. Because they permit flow in a single direction, they are also known in the market as “one-way valves” or “non-return valves.”
They are preferred in applications where backflow could cause problems (e.g., preventing the return of wastewater, avoiding damage to equipment, reverse osmosis applications, etc.). Another reason for their preference is that they are inexpensive and easily obtainable. They are usually stock items and widely available.

Operating Principle
The pressure required to open the valve is called the “cracking pressure” or “opening pressure.” The swing check valve opens when the pressure on the inlet side reaches the flow pressure or higher, allowing fluid to pass. Depending on the design, when the inlet pressure drops, a flap, ball, or diaphragm moves in the reverse direction to close the orifice. This closure is sometimes assisted by a spring or gravity.
