Unox Stainless Steel Steam Normally Closed Solenoid Valve

What is a Stainless Steel Steam Solenoid Valve?
A steam solenoid valve is an electromechanical valve that allows or blocks the flow of steam in a pipeline in a specific direction. This valve is controlled by a magnetic coil called a solenoid and is typically used in systems such as steam boilers. The steam solenoid valve ensures correct steam flow, improving system efficiency and safety.

Where is a Stainless Steel Steam Solenoid Valve Used?
Steam solenoid valves are designed for installations with high temperatures (80°C – 180°C). They are generally used in industrial plants and facilities to control steam distribution, direct steam to the correct areas, and regulate flow. They can also ensure the safe operation of steam-powered devices.

Solenoid valves are manufactured in two types: normally closed (opens when the coil is energized) and normally open (closes when the coil is energized).

Normally Closed Operation
A normally closed solenoid valve initially prevents fluid flow. When the coil receives an electric current, it moves the plunger upward, opening the orifice. High-pressure fluid then quickly exits through the bypass hole. The pressure difference overcomes the diaphragm spring, lifting the diaphragm and allowing fluid to pass, so the valve reaches the open position. This happens very quickly. Our product is designed for optimal performance.

General Specifications

  • Seal: PTFE / EPDM

  • Bonnet: Stainless Steel

  • Body: AISI 316 Stainless Steel

  • Plunger: Stainless Steel

  • Temperature: -10 / +180 °C

  • Coil: Socketed

Recommendations

  • Mount the valve with the coil on top.

  • Install filters or strainers before the solenoid valve in the system.

  • For high-temperature applications, request more resistant diaphragm and seal materials.

Selection Guidelines

  • The coil must match the operating voltage (AC or DC).

  • Ensure proper protection and insulation for the installation location.

  • The minimum and maximum pressures of your system are crucial for valve selection.

  • The nature and temperature of the fluid directly affect valve selection.

  • Align the fluid flow direction with the arrow on the valve body.

  • Since solenoid valves do not act as check valves, fluid may flow backward under reverse pressure. In such cases, a check valve should be installed after the solenoid.

  • The pipeline must be clean and free of debris.
