What is a Reducer?
A reducer is a device used in a mechanical system to reduce motion energy or power. It is generally used to decrease or modify the rotational power of motors. In addition, it can be used to increase the speed and torque of mechanical systems. Reducers consist of a series of gears and shafts and are usually made from metallic materials. Their applications are very broad, including industrial machinery and equipment, vehicles, household appliances, and even some toys.
In ball, butterfly, and plug valves with 90° rotation systems, they provide up to 80% ease of movement. They are particularly recommended for sizes DN150 – DN300, and their use is mandatory for diameters DN350 and above.
Where Are Reducers Used?
Unox quarter-turn mechanical reducers are suitable for general industrial applications, chemical processes, HVAC systems, and irrigation systems. They can be used across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Examples include:
