What Are General Purpose High Pressure Solenoid Valves?
High pressure solenoid valves are electromechanical valves that control the flow of pressurized gas or liquid. These types of valves can be opened or closed by a solenoid (a coil creating a magnetic field) when they receive an electrical signal. Thus, you can control or stop the flow within the system. They operate with both AC and DC electrical power and manage various fluids such as air, gas, fuel, steam, water, etc. They come in two-way or three-way designs. The valve consists of a body, sleeve, coil, diaphragm, and core.
Where Are General Purpose High Pressure Solenoid Valves Used?
High pressure solenoid valves are designed for systems where the line pressure is high (between 0.5 and 40 bar). They are typically used in industrial automation systems. For example, these valves are frequently used in the chemical, energy, mining, and food industries. High pressure solenoid valves enable controlled flow in various piping systems, allowing liquid or gas flow to be properly directed and regulated.
Solenoid valves are manufactured in two types: normally closed (valve is closed when the coil is energized to open it) and normally open (valve is open when the coil is energized to close it).
Normally Open Solenoid Valve Operation
A normally open solenoid valve initially allows fluid to pass through. To close the valve, an electric current energizes the coil, which moves the core downwards to close the orifice opening. Consequently, the internal pressure rises and pushes the diaphragm down, sealing the orifice through which the fluid passes. The pressure evenly distributes over the diaphragm, preventing the fluid pressure from lifting the diaphragm, and thus the valve remains closed. This process occurs very quickly. Our product is designed for optimal performance.

Recommendations for Solenoid Valves
-
Install the solenoid valve with the coil positioned upwards.
-
Use filters such as dirt traps before the solenoid valve in the system.
-
For high temperature applications, we use more durable diaphragm and seal materials. Please specify your requirements for high temperature diaphragms and seals when ordering.
Considerations When Selecting Solenoid Valves
-
The coil should be selected according to the operating voltage (AC or DC). Protection and insulation should be ensured according to the application. (The valve opens when electricity and air flow are present, and closes when electricity is cut off.)
-
Minimum and maximum pressure values of the system are very important in valve selection.
-
The nature and temperature of the fluid directly affect valve selection.
-
Pay attention to the installation so that the fluid direction matches the arrow on the valve body.
-
Since the solenoid valve does not function as a check valve, fluid may flow backward under reverse pressure. In such cases, it is correct to install a check valve after the solenoid valve.
-
The pipe where the valve is installed should be free from dirt.
