Unox Double-Acting Pneumatic Actuated U-PVC Butterfly Valve for Water Applications
What is a Pneumatic Actuated U-PVC Butterfly Valve?
A U-PVC butterfly valve is a type of valve made from unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (U-PVC). Butterfly valves are used to open, close, or regulate the flow of fluids inside a pipe or pipeline system. They are commonly used in water systems and piping networks.
U-PVC butterfly valves are preferred because they are lightweight, easy to install, and highly resistant to corrosion. Thanks to these properties, they offer a long service life.
How Does a Butterfly Valve Work?
The operating principle of a butterfly valve is based on a disc-shaped plate that rotates inside the pipeline. This disc is turned using a lever or actuator to open or close the flow.
When fully open, the disc aligns with the flow direction, allowing fluid to pass with minimal pressure loss. When closed, the disc turns perpendicular to the flow and blocks it completely.
Where Are U-PVC Butterfly Valves Used?
- Water treatment plants for controlling filtration and disinfection processes
- Chemical processing plants due to resistance against many corrosive substances
- Food and beverage industry for controlling liquids and gases in pipelines
- HVAC systems for regulating airflow in ducts
- Agricultural irrigation systems for controlling water distribution
- Plumbing systems for general water flow control
- Industrial applications such as oil & gas, pharmaceutical production, and power plants
General Properties of Polyethylene Materials
