What is a Motorized On-Off Control Valve?
A control valve is a valve used to regulate a fluid by changing the size of the flow passage according to a signal received from a controller. Control valves enable the control of pressure, temperature, flow, and level in all processes where fluids are involved. They allow the transport and regulation of fluids such as chilled water, hot water, steam, superheated water, and gases in industrial plants without any loss.
What is the Operating Principle of an On-Off Control Valve?
The On-Off operating principle refers to a control system where a device or system is either fully open or fully closed, with no intermediate states. This type of control is commonly used in simple systems where a device needs to be turned on or off based on specific conditions or input.
An example of On-Off control is a thermostat used to regulate a heating or cooling system. When the thermostat is set to a specific temperature, it turns the system on or off to maintain that temperature. If the room temperature falls below the set point, the heating system turns on; if it exceeds the set point, the system turns off.
On-Off control is relatively easy to implement and understand, making it suitable for simple control systems. However, since it does not allow fine adjustments or intermediate positions, it is generally less precise than other control methods.
